About Us
The CHIA collaborative links multidisciplinary groups and multiple institutions, which have maintained a common research program since 2011. At the University of Pittsburgh, for instance, the research team draws on History, Social Sciences, Humanities, Library and Information Science, Geology, Public Health, and Medicine. Collaborating groups of interdisciplinary scholars are at Harvard, University of California – Merced, Michigan State University, Boston University, University of Portsmouth, and the International Institute of Social History (Amsterdam). Additional contacts include the Asian Office of CHIA (National University of Singapore), CODESRIA (Dakar), and CLACSO (Buenos Aires). CHIA’s program of world-historical research is proceeding through three stages.Stage 1, 2011 - 2015

Human System Data Resource
The Human System Data Resource has been created to document historical datasets, link them to each other,
aggregate them, and prepare them for multi-level analysis. It is powered by the Col*Fusion infrastructure,
developed at the University of Pittsburgh.
